One of the following processes may be followed to create a machine image with the Spirion Client installed.
Please ensure that you test at least on a few machines of each type of operating system, before deploying the image. The test of the process should verify that the endpoints are listed on the Console, that search results are being posted on the Console, and that the results are posted as coming from the Correct Endpoint:

Ideally the machine (Mac or Windows) would be a new build where Spirion has never been installed, and then performing the following process:
a. Disconnect the network cable or disable the wireless connection so there is no network connectivity.
b. Install Spirion using an MSI or Mac install package that has the Endpoint enabled and the license file and clientsettings registry key or plist included
c. Do not run Identity Finder after the install
d. Take an image of the machine -
If Identity Finder has been installed on the machine, even if it was uninstalled and then reinstalled. The following process should be followed on a Windows machine - that has an existing install of Identity Finder:
a. Remove all policies applied to the endpoint
b. Verify that all the policies have been removed and all the Identity Finder registry keys are removed EXCEPT for the following under HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Identity Finder\Client, or on 64bit systems using the 64 bit regedit.exe, HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Identity Finder\Client:
i. Console\enable
ii. Console\endKey
iii. Console\serverUrl
c. Remove the contents of the following folders. Do not delete these folders. You may leave the sub folders, but ensure that all files have been removed:
i. On XP: C:\ProgramData\Application Data\Identity Finder*.* (remove the contents of any folder in the ‘C:\ProgramData\Application Data\Identity Finder’ folder.
ii. On Win7: : C:\ProgramData\Identity Finder*.* (remove the contents of any folder in the ‘C:\ProgramData\Identity Finder’ folder.
iii. C:\Users{user name}\Local Settings\Application Data\Identity Finder\databases
iv. C:\Users{user name}\AppData\Local\Temp
v. C:\Users{user name}\AppData\Local\Temp\idftmpdir
c. Take an image of the machine
- If Identity Finder has been installed on the machine, even if it was uninstalled and then reinstalled. The following process should be followed on a Mac machine - that has an existing install of Identity Finder:a. Verify that all the policies have been removed and all the Identity Finder plist (/Library/Preferences/com.identityfinder.macedition.xml) settings are removed except for the following settings:i. Console\enableii. Console\endKeyiii. Console\serverUrl
b. Remove the contents of the following folders. Do not delete these folders. You may leave the sub folders, but ensure that all files have been removed:
i. /private/tmp/IDFTmpDir/
ii. “~/Library/Application Support/Identity Finder/Identity Finder Mac Edition”
iii. /Users/Shared/.identityfinder/Application/{04964656e-7469-7479-2046-696e6465720}
c. Take an image of the machine
