Note: This article only applies to clients older than version 6.2. As of version 6.2, information in a license file will take precendence over any activation information. Refer to, "Identity Finder Does Not Allow Licensed Features" for information on when it may be necessary to delete activation information.
If an Identity Finder client has been activated, the license information provided via that activation number will always be read unless it is deleted. Adding an identityfinder.lic license file to a computer that was previously activated will not cause Identity Finder to read the new license information until the activation information has been deleted.
To remove the activation information from a Windows client, remove the following directory:
- Windows 2000/XP/2003:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Identity Finder\Application
NOTE: The C:\ represents the system drive and should be replaced with the appropriate value. Most systems use C:\ as the system drive. Additionally, if the normal system folders for Profiles or ProgramData have custom locations, please check with your in house IT department for the correct path.
To remove the activation information from a Mac client, remove the following folder:
- All versions:
NOTE: The .identityfinder directory is hidden because it begins with a period. It may only be possible to see this directory from a terminal with the "ls -a" command.
