In some rare cases Protected Storage that is used by old browsers such as Internet Explorer 6 can become corrupt. This corruption can force an erroneous dialog to be displayed by Windows when Identity Finder is searching Hidden Web Data. This dialog can be confusing to end users and can prevent a scheduled task from running or completing.
Starting with the Identity Finder v4.1.3 Client a new setting is available to prevent legacy Protected Storage items from being accessed during a Hidden Web Data search. The setting is:
By default on Enterprise Edition Clients, Pre-IE7 Internet Explorer Web Browser data will not be searched. To search Browser Data for Internet Explorer versions prior to version 7 (eg., IE 5, IE 6), set this value to 1 (Include). For Home and Professional Editions, this value is 1 (Include) by default. Note: This value only has an effect
when EnableBrowsers is set to 1 (Enable Browser search) and IncludeIEInBrowserSearch is set to 1 (Enable).
